• Campus Walk

For lunch today I walked to the University and ate near the Century Tower.  It always makes me feel young walking on Campus.   It totally brings me back to my college days, except I’m the old man walking on campus now.

Near GPA I saw this hawk (I think).  It was sitting on a lower limb yards away from people walking by.  I was so amazed that it looked like it was hunting something in a nearby bush.

  • Walking

Today I started walking again.  I hope I can keep this up.  Today I walked 3 miles at lunch down past the University and back.  What a glorious day.

  • Back in the Saddle

Someone asked me yesterday whether I was sill walking and I had to unfortunately say no.  I guess my only excuse  is that the weather the last month (or 2) has been poor.  Lame.  Anyway I started again today and hope to keep the routine.   3 miles down.

  • Sweat

There is something about getting all sweaty.  Its our bodies way of getting rid of stuff. (and to cool down)  I just resumed my daily lunch time walk that has been on hold for several months.  I’m not sure why I stopped but recently have had this build up to get back to it.

I have been making all kinds of excuses, like I have to eat, I need to meet this client, I don’t have my MP3 player (in fact that was my excuse today, so I went to Office Depot this morning and bought a replacement for $39), or its going to rain.    So no more excuses, I just did it, 45min and 3 miles later.   And I let my mind clear and my body sweat.

    And it feels good.

  • My Wife’s Blueberries

Today Lisa and I discovered Blue Berries on her bush in the front yard. Right after we started our daily walk she spotted them from across the yard. We have had the bushes for several years (even moved them once) and I think this is the first crop. Well maybe this first not eated yet. We were both very excited.

  • aPhids

Lisa and I found these on a confederate rose tree we were cutting.  We think they are some kind of aphid.  They moved around in this funny way all in a group.
