This morning Lisa and I worked on a ‘fern’ bed in our front yard.  Inside and living with the fern were thorny vines that have plagued us for years.   On the surface then are strong, sometimes very thin, plants with small green thorny leaves that seem to go on forever.  But today we were patient enough and had good gloves, decided to find the other end.  This is what we found.

Notice the thorns all of the way to the tip.  To me it looks very alive.   Like a little monster with arms and legs.  Here is the first one Lisa found. 

I made into a crown of thorns before I sent it to the trash pile.   This is the bed before:

Today we got our new front doors installed.  We bought them at The Home Depot and had them installed.   We liked the doors because they match our side door that also has the leaded glass look.   We hope this will provide additional light for our soon to be expanded kitchen. :> 

It was a major ordeal to get a second door handle (left side looking at the door), Lisa had to basically buy 2 full lock sets just to get the symmetrical look we wanted.

I am frightened by spiders. All kinds.  Just now, Lisa walked into the room I am sitting in and saw a huge brown spider 3 feet away from me.  She screamed and I immediately grabbed a shoe and mashed it to hell.  I get great joy and making them dust.  Last week I saw an even larger one in my office.  I was unable to kill him, and know he is living in there…

Today they put the first coat of the sealer on before they refinish it.
