  • RIP – Joel Dorn

Posted on January 4th, 2008, 9:49 pm by paul smith

This is the best thing I have ever heard a son say about a dad.

This is a blog entry by his son Adam on the day of his fathers death.

  • RIP – Evel Knievel

Posted on November 30th, 2007, 8:22 pm by paul smith

Evel Knievel, the motorcycle daredevil whose stunts — including an attempted leap over Idaho’s Snake River Canyon — made him a popular cultural figure, is dead, according to his Web site, evelknievel.com. He was 69.

I remember being 8 and watching him try and jump Snake River Canyon.

  • RIP – Luciano Pavarotti

Posted on September 6th, 2007, 12:37 pm by paul smith

Opera singer Luciano Pavarotti died Thursday at his home in Modena, Italy after a battle with cancer. He was 71.

I never thought I was a huge fan, but listening to his music today fills my heart.  What an amazing voice that makes me think it comes directly from God.    I want to go today and buy a few CD’s…

  • RIP – Joel Siegel

“Joel Siegel, the Emmy Award-winning longtime film critic and entertainment editor for ABC’s “Good Morning America” and WABC-TV in New York, died Friday. He was 63. “

Ever since I can remember I watched him on GMA.

I just heard this news.  I never realized that he was an active participate in our country’s fight for civil rights.  He personally knew Martin Luther King and was 20 feet away from Bobby Kennedy when he was shot.   He will be missed and god bless his son Dillon.

  • Don Ho, RIP

Posted on April 14th, 2007, 9:32 pm by paul smith

Don Ho was a favorite of my grandmother Gladys Smith.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (AP) — Legendary crooner Don Ho, who entertained tourists for decades wearing raspberry-tinted sunglasses and singing the catchy signature tune “Tiny Bubbles,” has died. He was 76.

He died Saturday morning of heart failure, publicist Donna Jung said.

Donald Tai Loy Ho, who was Hawaiian, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch and German, was born August 13, 1930, in Honolulu and grew up in the then-rural countryside of Kaneohe.
