• Baking 101

The boys love when I bake. I know because they eat all of it every time I do, especially the chocolate ones.  In recent months I have become fond of trying my hand at baking.   I have been doing it for years, but somehow have a renewed interest.  Generally I have done brownies, cookies, blueberry muffins and my favorite chocolate muffins.  I like getting all of the ingredients, heating the oven, mixing it up and then getting it into the oven.   The best part is how the house smells as it bakes.

So today Evan and I went to Wal*Mart and got a hand mixer.  I have been mixing by hand for some time and have wanted one.

Who knew Black & Decker made kitchen hand mixers…

Lisa made this wonderful Easter bread.  We were up pretty late getting it ready for Easter morning and I think it came out great.  It had a hint of Orange in it.  Yummy.

In Church this morning we were blessed with sitting in the 3rd row of the choir.  Right up front. :>  Facing everybody.  Kinda.. I was actually the closest to Fr. John.   We were part of the Choir at times.  It was very cool and special.

For dinner, Lisa prepared a wonderful Lamb that she had been preparing since Holy Thursday.  It was incredible.  She made humus and this great yogurt, dill and cumcumber sauce.  Leftovers for sure.

  • Today was a great day

From the moment I awoke, through breakfast and then on to Church with my family, the day just got better.

Shopping and a killer lunch with awesome onion rolls, followed by more shopping and yard sprinker repair.

A late afternoon motorcycle ride for 45 minutes cranked it up a bit.

Moho Chicken , red peppers and a perfect caesar salid topped the day off.

    Wow.  I’m ready for tomorrow.

  • Christmas Oranges

We found ourselfes with a abundance of oranges so Lisa decided to make orange marmalade. Some from our neighbor Wes and the others from our neighbor Jim.

  • Clams

Lisa made me clams with a homemade receipe of spices and veggies using our new All-Clad saute pan.  We didn’t have the normal Bay Seasonings so Lisa improvised and made her own.  And boy was it great.  I am a very blessed man.   $14..lol
