Tonight a friend took me to a wine tasting at Dorn’s. They had a little food and 12 different wines. There were six at each table, 3 whites and 3 reds.
It was fun roaming around Dorn’s trying to find the wine you were tasting.
I have been going to Dorn’s for years and have never seen one of these. Dorn’s took reservations for 60 people and it appeared to be sold out when we walked up. But because of the storm they let us in. I would say there was about 40 people there.
For $10 they gave us a wine glass and a list and said “Ok start on the list”. Three whites, three reds and then three whites and the three reds. (and then some additional reds for me) Surprisingly, I liked the reds more.
What an amazing idea, charge $10, open a couple dozen bottles of wine, have some good food and have people roam around your store for 2 hours. Many, like me, purchased at least 1 bottle before they left.
Then they let us keep the glasses.
