I just got back from taking a nice long night ride on the Honda 750. Boy was it fun. I felt mostly safe but definately wanted to be home before the 2am bar closing. I didn’t go very fast, mostly 20-35 and sometimes 40.
I went down to the University via nw 16th to nw 21st st and crossed University Ave behind the President’s mansion. I went straight pass the basketball complex where Billy Donovan’s team practices and hung a right on frat row. I followed frat row around towards Lake Alice, then turned left onto Museum Road. I took Museum all the way to 13th street. I turned left and headed north to 2nd Ave, then right. I then took sw 2nd ave into downtown. Then drove through several streets downtown and saw which bars had people in them and people hanging out of them. I saw lots of Police and can see why it is crazy making sure everyone gets home safe at 2am when everyone is kicked out.
I eventually headed west on University Ave across 13th street, past the University and zig zagged from University Ave to nw 16th ave.
The motorcycle felt good to ride. It is a cool night (46 degrees). I like the lights and sounds of the Honda 750. I also like how easy it is to quickly get from point a to point b. I like going down streets and seeing houses, people and things I have never see while in my car. It’s like riding your bicycle in the countryside, but cheating because you have a 750 horse power engine.
What a way to end a great day.
